Argentine Alfajor recipe

Argentine Alfajor 

Ingredients

5 tablespoons of margarine

1/2 cup (tea) of sugar

2 eggs

1 1/2 cup wheat (tea)

2 cups cornstarch (cornstarch)

1 Tablespoon Baking Powder

lemon zest to taste

Icing sugar for rolling out and sprinkling the dough

Sweet milk Pastry

Roof

Melted chocolate or icing sugar

Method of preparation

Beat the sugar, margarine and eggs in a mixer until creamy, put the wheat, cornstarch, lemon zest and the yeast, beat until it forms a very smooth dough.

Put it in the fridge and let it rest for 40 minutes.

Sprinkle the dough onto a table and roll out the dough, 1/2 cm, cut even slices and place to bake, in a form with a thick layer of icing sugar.

Bake in oven at 200 degrees, until it starts to brown under the dough.

Unmold while still hot, fill and Roll in melted chocolate or sugar.

Serve immediately.
