Homemade pizza 

With homemade pizza dough and tips and tricks for baking. Easy and classic recipe for pizza as it is made in Italy. This pizza recipe with homemade dough is super delicious, and it can be made with all kinds of toppings.

It is a foolproof recipe and procedure for a Quality pizza.. that is homemade from scratch. The recipe makes four pizzas that are suitable for four people.

You can also make more and smaller pizzas out of the portion.


Homemade tomato sauce / pizza sauce

1 tbsp San Marzano tomatoes - I bought them from Mutti - Alm. skinned can be used if necessary

1 medium onion

1 clove of garlic

1 teaspoon of salt

½ tsp cane sugar

1 tsp Wine vinegar(white)

Possibly 1 tablespoon of tomato paste - if you like

Olive oil

Topping (just a suggestion, you can choose what you like)

2 scoops of fresh buffalo milk mozzarella if you want to show off

25 g fresh parmesan

Parma ham or other high-quality ham

Possibly. basil leaves

Here's how you do it?

Pizza dough,

Mix all ingredients together and knead in a mixer (or by hand) for 20-30 minutes at low speed - the dough should be slightly elastic when you pull on it.

Let the dough rise in a bowl covered with cling film for 1 hour at room temperature

Next, shape the dough into 2 buns in a bowl covered with cling film, which must rise for 4-6 hours at room temperature.    (Click for another recipe)

Finally, you put the buns in the fridge for 24 hours, where they rise completely

Take the dough out of the fridge approx. 30 minutes before you have to shape it into pizza bases

Tomato sauce

Peel and roughly chop the onion and garlic.

Fry it until crispy in a little olive oil.

Add tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes.

Add salt, sugar and white wine vinegar and let it boil for another 5 minutes.

Blend it all together with an immersion blender, taste with additional vinegar, salt and/or sugar if necessary, and refrigerate until you need to use the sauce.

Topping + finishing the pizza

Spread your pizza base with a thin layer of Tomato sauce - It should be approx. 2 cm to the edge of the pizza dough.

Now pour your favorite topping on - here at home we are very happy with the classic (Neapolitan) margarita with mozzarella, parmesan, olive oil and basil leaves or pizza prosciutto (mozzarella and good ham)

Bake the pizza on the baking sheet (which has been preheated in the oven for approx. 20 minutes) at the highest possible heat in the oven until the pizza is done (5-10 minutes)
