Homemade Jam Toast recipe

Homemade Jam Toast Loved all over the world and with many variations, bread is a true culinary classic. In Brazil, for example, demand for the “form” type grew by 3.48% comparing January 2022 with the same period last year, according to the Brazilian Association of Supermarkets (Abras). Versatile and affordable, it can be used to Prepare a Sandwiches, starters and side dishes. 

Specialist manufacturer in the sector, which owns the brand of the same name and Seven Boys, shows a recipe with the product. It can be made with the  breads, which are soft and juicy, with selected ingre- dients, thicker slices and thin crust.

How to make ?

In a Baking dish, place the peppers and bake in a preheated oven at 160ºC for about 40 minutes. Transfer the roasted peppers to a plastic bag, close tightly (so they are stuffy) and let it cool. Open the plastic and remove the skin, seeds, cable and transfer to a processor. Add the peppers, apples and beat until you form a puree. Transfer to a pan, add the rest of the ingredients and cook for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Transfer the jam to a sterilized glass jar and store in the refrigerator. 

Toast the slices of bread and spread the pepper jelly on top of them. Then the slices of Camembert cheese. Finish with toasted walnuts and basil leaves. 

Ingredients?

• Bread (your choice)

• Homemade Pepper Jelly (recipe below) 

Camembert cheese slices 

• toasted walnuts 

• Basil leaves (optional) Pepper jelly

• 2 red peppers 

• 1 dozen chili peppers (large) without seeds 

• 2 apples cut into smaller pieces (with skin and without seeds) 

• 1 cup (tea) granulated sugar 

• 1 lemon juice 

• 3 grated garlic cloves 

• 200 ml of orange juice (natural) 

• 1/2 teaspoon salt 

Method of preparation,

• In a baking dish, place the peppers and bake in a preheated oven at 160ºC for about 40 minutes.

• The right point is when, when you put some of the jelly on a saucer and tilt it, it slowly drains.

• Transfer the jam to a sterilized glass jar and store in the fridge. 

Mounting,

• Toast the bread slices in the Oven.  

• On top of them, distribute the pepper jelly. 

• Then the slices of Camembert cheese.  

• Finish with toasted walnuts and basil leaves. 

Yield: 4 servings

Preparation time: 90 minutes
